SloptinaGive her an idea. She’ll paint it.

Privacy policy

Updated October 18, 2026.

In short: Sloptina paints on your device, and your ideas and paintings stay there. Crash reports and a small, fixed set of usage events go to Google’s Firebase, never with your ideas, titles or paintings. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.

Your ideas and paintings

Sloptina stores what it needs on your device: the ideas you type, painting titles, the paintings and their thumbnails, share cards and stickers you make, dates, which artist painted each one, the artist you’ve chosen, your painting days and any saved head start, and your settings for sound effects, music, haptics and the Live Activity. You do not create a Sloptina account, and there are no Sloptina servers.

Painting on your device

Paintings are generated on your device by an AI image model, Stable Diffusion 2.1 in Apple’s Core ML format, which ships inside the app. That is why the app is about 1.1 GB. Your ideas and paintings are never uploaded, and no outside AI service is used. Ideas that aren’t nice (sexual, gory, hateful, or about self-harm) are declined on your device before painting starts.

Every image you save or share is labeled as AI-generated in its metadata (the IPTC digital source type “trainedAlgorithmicMedia”), along with the app’s name, the model’s name and the painting’s title. Your idea text is never written into saved or shared files.

Photos, sharing and Messages

Save to Photos asks, when you first save, only for permission to add images, so Sloptina cannot see the rest of your photo library. Sharing uses the iOS share sheet: nothing leaves your device until you choose where it goes. Stickers are cut out of a painting on your device. Sloptina’s iMessage app lists only paintings you have already seen and sends only the paintings and stickers you pick. Apple’s Photos and Messages services handle that content under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

Notifications, widgets, Siri and Spotlight

Notifications that a painting is ready are local: your device schedules them, and no push server is involved. They can show the painting’s title and a small preview. Home Screen widgets and the Live Activity read from Sloptina’s storage on your device. The Live Activity is off unless you turn it on, and it never shows the painting itself. Painting titles are added to Spotlight’s index on your device so you can search for them. Siri and Shortcuts actions are handled by Sloptina on your device; Apple processes Siri requests under its own privacy practices.

Purchases

Apple processes in-app payments. Tips are consumable purchases that Sloptina delivers with Apple’s StoreKit, and the app never receives your payment-card details. A treat bought while nothing is painting is saved on your device for the next painting. Apple keeps its own purchase records under its policies, and refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Deleting the app does not refund a tip.

Crash reports

Sloptina uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and limited diagnostic information needed to find and fix app failures. Reports can include a random installation identifier, app and operating system versions, device model, crash time, stack traces, and app state such as which artist is at the easel, which painting engine was running and the names of recent app events. A report is also sent when a painting runs into a problem, such as the model failing to load. Reports never include your ideas, titles or paintings, and they are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Google states that Crashlytics retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning deletion from live and backup systems. Firebase privacy information.

Advertising and analytics

Sloptina uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the studio is used, through a small, fixed list of events. Each event notes which artist is at the easel.

Firebase also measures app sessions and first opens, and completed in-app purchases, including product and price, and derives an approximate region from a masked IP address. This does not use Location Services or show a location permission prompt. Analytics advertising storage, advertising personalization, user IDs, IDFA, IDFV, automatic screen reporting, and cross-app tracking are disabled. We never send your ideas, titles, paintings, or any other free-form text. The app contains no advertising and does not sell your data. It does not request access to your contacts, device location, camera, or microphone.

App Store privacy details

On the App Store, Sloptina lists these data types as collected but not linked to your identity and not used for tracking: coarse location, device ID, purchase history, product interaction, other usage data, crash data, and other diagnostic data.

Reporting a painting

“This one isn’t nice…” on a painting deletes it from your device. You can then choose to open an email to support, filled in with the idea text, the painter’s name, the app version and the painting’s ID. It is sent only if you send it from Mail, and you can edit it first; the painting itself is not attached. If you send it, we receive your email address and whatever the message contains.

House rules

Sloptina follows the use restrictions of the model’s license, CreativeML Open RAIL++-M. Please don’t use it to break the law, to exploit or harm minors, to harass, defame or discriminate against anyone, or to spread false or personal information meant to harm someone. The full list is in the app, in Sloptina’s little notice.

Children

Sloptina is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13.

Storage and your choices

Your ideas and paintings stay on your device until you delete them. Deleting a painting in the gallery removes it along with its thumbnail, share card and sticker. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Device backups may include app data until those backups are replaced. Sound effects, music, haptics and the Live Activity can be switched on or off in the app; notifications and Photos access are managed in the iOS Settings app. The app currently has no in-app switch for crash reports or analytics. Reports and events already sent to Firebase are kept under Google’s policies.
